Description
1928 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup First built in the 50's, then the last builder found the body in a scrap yard in the late 60's and proceed to build the car you see here in the early 70's. All original Henry Ford steel with the body channelled over a custom frame that is c-notched 6' in the rear. Original 1932 grille and shell that has been sectioned, filled, and peaked.
Car runs a SBF based 331 stroker with Holley tri-power, Joe Hunt coil on distributor, early Cal Custom valve covers, power is transferred through a Ford C4 transmission to a Ford 8' rear end. Traditional front end with dropped axle, transverse springs and lever shocks. The original builders friend worked at a chrome shop, so all suspension and axles are nickel plated chrome.
Below is a link to an article and video when the car won the Lokar Driven Award at the Detroit Autorama in 2018. The only difference is the car now runs a Holley tri-power. After Autorama and subsequent media coverage, the original builder, after losing contact with the car, contacted me, we had a long talk and it was as if he was standing next to the car, according to him, the only parts bought new at the time were the headlight stantions, everything else is custom.

Classic Ford Model A Buyer's Guide
The Ford Model A was produced from October 1927 through March 1932 and represents the foundation of the pre-war American collector car hobby. Replacing the Model T after eighteen years of production, the Model A introduced standardized hand controls, a sliding-gear transmission, four-wheel mechanical brakes, and the styling vocabulary that defined American motoring through the 1930s. Approximately 4.85 million Model As were produced across all body styles, and a remarkable percentage of them survive today — supported by perhaps the most active marque club in the world (Model A Restorers Club, MAFCA, and the Model A Ford Club of America). For new buyers, the Model A represents the most accessible genuine pre-war American collector car, with strong parts support, an active community, and pricing that has remained remarkably stable for decades.
