Listing Description

1961 Rambler American Convertible For Sale For 1961 the Rambler American Custom added this two-door convertible as their first cfor the first time since 1954. It featured a power-operated folding top with roll-down door glass, rather than the fixed side- window frames of the original design. Passenger room increased from five to six. The straight six (I-6) was updated by the factory with an overhead-valve cylinder head for the upgraded models such as this American Custom. In 1962, the American Custom was renamed "the American 400." This Rambler American Custom is a completely original car. There have been a few upgrades such as seatbelts for added safety but very little else. Paint, trim interior and the engine are completely original. The paint has its share of scratches from 60+ years of usage but it is dent free. The chrome and trim are in very good condition. The power convertible top works perfectly. The boot fits easily and has no holes. The undercarriage is super clean and 100% rust free. The engine is a Great Running 195ci inline 6cylinder with a manual 3-speed transmission on the column. These engines will run forever. Located In Old Bethpage, NYTrim: ConvertibleBody Style: ConvertibleCondition: UsedCertified: 0Fuel Type: GasolineOptions: Vinyl Interior Surface
