1953 Chevrolet 3100 Advanced Design Pickup Truck "Ducks Unlimited" Tribute For Sale This truck is the hugely popular "Advanced Design" that has become the symbol of vintage pickups trucks everywhere.It is the "dream" configuration: A short bed, manual transmission, 5-window cab painted in Chevy Light Blue, featuring the most powerful engine of the time, the Thriftmaster 235ci 6-cylinder.The truck is completely restored to original condition. Panels are rust-free, paint is superb and flawless, the bed liner's wood is beautiful, and the interior is correct and sharp, the undercarriage is perfect, and everything works. The rebuilt engine sits in a clean and unmolested compartment. And, of course, the truck runs as good as it looks. As a bit of history, Chevrolet's first major redesign post- World War II, was this Advanced-Design series... bigger, stronger, and sleeker. 1953 is significant as it was the last full year of the pure classic rounded look, with its split windshield, 5-crossbar chrome grille, classic dash and steering wheel. (The common wisdom among collectors is that the last years of a model are usually the most valuable.) The prior owner was a devoted duck hunter and treated this truck to a hand-painted, tasteful application of ducks in flight (removable, but that would be a shame.) It was fashioned after a Commemorative Diecast Edition model he owned (comes with truck). Sadly, he only drove this jewel about 100 miles before his passing, so the high-quality restoration remains fresh and ready for many years of use.
