Listing Description

1955 Chevrolet Cameo pickup all original with only one repaint always garage kept. This pickup is straight and solid with no rust. California truck built in Los Angeles, factory numbers-matching 265 V8 with a hydromatic transmission. The color is Bombay Ivory with red accents - this truck is loaded with factory options includes power steering, power brakes, working deluxe heater, am radio, cigarette lighter, courtesy glove box light, inside cab light, day/night rearview mirror, and optional front visor. Original two-toned interior (Red and White with Oak Bark pattern), seats covered in plastic since new. In 1955, with the development of the first-ever luxury truck the Chevrolet Cameo, the game changed. Boasting loads of chrome, eye-catching interior fabric patterns and stylish design features, the Cameo would soon reshape the automotive industry forever. The total number of Cameo trucks produced during the short few year run (1955-1958) was approximately 10,000 units, with 5,200 units produced for 1955. The biggest distinction regarding the '55 Cameo is they were all painted Bombay Ivory (white) with a Commercial Red stripe. Other notable features include: the beautifully sculpted unique flat fiberglass box panels, deluxe Belair interior, full car-style hubcaps and Ferrari-inspired egg crate grille, just to name a few. A closer look reveals the smooth-sided Cameo carried a conventional steel step-side box hidden inside fiberglass outer skins. The fenders, tailgate, and spare-tire carrier were all formed from fiberglass and attached with concealed fasteners to the exterior of the pickup box. Also unique to the Cameo, the tailgate swings down on cables that retract via small hidden, spring-loaded pulleys. All lights work, including turn signals, new tires BF Goodrich Silvertown radial P225/70R15 and brakes. This pickup includes a spare tire, and the original jack, and owner's manual. This is a very nice running pickup that will run 65 mph down the freeway all day.Doors: 2
