Listing Description

1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 140HP convertible automatic,Canadian built mileage reads 32,000 miles, but true miles are unknown. This is one of 241 Monza convertibles built at Canada\'s Oshawa, Ontario, GM plant for the \'66 model year. And only 1 of 10 were equipped with a Power Glide automatic transmission. In Canada as in the US for 1966 you could order the Corsa’s 140HP and an automatic in a Monza. I purchased this car from the daughter of the original Canadian owner. She had the car imported into the states in 2019 after her father passed away. In restoring this Corvair to be safely road worthy documented repairs. I have the receipts dated 11-15-19 for the work done by Barr’s Performance Restorations. They cover almost complete replacement of the fuel, suspension, and braking systems. The car also has 5 brand-new tires including spare. Under my ownership I upgraded the car to electronic ignition, new HD spark plug leads and carburetor rebuilds from Wolf carburetor specialists. Completely bone stock Corvair 140, no engine modifications. Clean, nonsmoker, unmolested car: The car has always been looked after by Corvair knowledgeable mechanics, and well cared for its entire life. Idles smooth, accelerates without hesitation, shifting perfectly through every gear. Stops straight with no issues. Maintenance in preparation for sale include Items listed above. The car was repainted under previous ownership, the paint is shiny and looks great. Canadian cars were delivered with their trunks painted the same color as the car, as you can see on this example there is no GM speckle paint applied. The interior is in great shape, as is all the trim and carpets. The top is in good shape, power operated and works perfectly. The original AM radio works as do all the mechanicals on the car. The spare tire and jack are mounted in the engine compartment where it should be, and the tire is new. The underside of the Corvair shows light surface rust but no rot or perforation.Trim: MonzaBody Style: ConvertibleDoors: 2Fuel Type: GasDrive Type: RWD
