Listing Description

1978 F-250 Ranger XLT. This truck has 63,598 original miles. My father-in-law bought it in 1979 with 4,000 miles on it from Lakewood Fordland and it’s been in the family every since. It has never had rust and is 95% original. Here’s the specs: 1978 F-250 Ranger XLT, 400 M factory non-catalyst engine, C-6 Automatic, NP 205 transfer case, high pinon Dana 44 Front, Dana 60 rear, factory 4:10 gear ratio, power steering, power brakes, dual gas tanks. This is a very rare truck in that it is rust free, is almost all original, and has never been butchered. True 68,598 odometer reading. Here’s the brief list of modifications from stock. A shift kit and trans cooler were added to the truck in 1979, It went to 16” wheels in about 2000, It got dual exhaust in about 2010, and has an aftermarket stereo, but no holes were cut into dash. It got the wiring and isolator for a dual battery set-up in 79 also. Father-in-law had Maaco put a paint job on it in the 90’s sometime as the original was getting faded. It hauled a Mitchel camper for a brief period of time, but other than that, it has led a pretty easy life. It currently has 265/75R16 Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires with about 75% tread. This truck runs and drives beautifully. Please understand that, while this is a beautiful truck and I would put it up against just about any other 78 F-250 I’ve seen, it’s not perfect.
