Listing Description
1930 Ford Model A Phaeton For Sale Ground Up Restoration With Only 5,500 Miles 4 Door Convertible 12 Volt Conversion Side Curtains When it finally replaced the Model T in late 1927, the all-new and long-awaited Model A was more complex yet considerably simpler in operation than the prior "Tin Lizzie." The Model A, priced at just $460, was initially available in nine body types, and in keeping with Ford Motor Company tradition, it provided immense utility and value. The Model A's introduction was a highly anticipated event, as Ford proved that it had perfected the art of effective product placement in one of the most successful new product launches in automotive history. A mild styling revision for 1930 brought fold- down windshields to the roadster and phaeton, while the Deluxe and Standard Roadsters now had different rooflines, with the Standard distinguished by its taller windshield and top. Mid-year, the four-passenger Deluxe Phaeton appeared, and it featured a sporty two- door body and a lower roofline. Just 3,946 examples were produced for 1930, followed by only 2,229 for the 1931 calendar year. The Deluxe Phaeton offered here has been part of a Collection for years. It was restored some years ago. The paint is still in fine condition and is finished off with the wire wheels. The interior is in very nice, tight condition, and its proper carpeting fits well. The chrome center wheel caps, opening windshield works great. Its mileage is recorded at 5,500, which is the mileage since the restoration. This extremely rare and desirable Model A is well-presented with the option to either be freshened and shown or driven and enjoyed, and no collection of "Henry" Fords is complete without one.
