1952 Hudson Hornet
Vehicle Details
Listing Description
1952 Hudson Hornet, 2-door. This is fabulous. It runs and drives. The engine is the stock 145hp, 302 cubic inch, single carb engine. Transmission: Dual-Range Hydramatic. The rear track is narrower, which allowed for more aggressive cornering when added to the lower center of gravity from the step-down design. The car was car re-wired several years ago by a good Hudson mechanic, which is why the headliner is cut in places. It is still a six-volt system, and it is a POSITIVE ground, as original. It has an Optima battery, which has assured it always starts. The tires have held up pretty well. They are wide whites. The radio antenna rotates into the 'up' position by the knob inside at the top center of the windshield. The radio can be rebuilt pretty easily. The clock ran for many years, and when the engine was running you could hear the clock, but not the engine. In practical terms it is a two owner car. Although there was a dealer between the original owner's estate sale and the current owner's purchase in 1974. The original owner's widow stopped driving it when she could not judge where the right side was (see the creases in the doors' sheet metal), and put it in the garage. They lived in Riverside, which is inland, away from the coastal salt air. When she died, the dealer bought it, had a little work done and listed it in the Times classifieds. That is where the current owner saw it listed, and ended up buying it from him.Doors: 2
