Listing Description
1962 MG MGA CONVERTIBLE You can span the globe, search far and wide and be hard pressed to find a better all-around example of the MGA roadster than the one offered for sale here. The MGA replaced the iconic but dated TD in 1955 and the 1962 1600 MKll was the final edition of the MGA’s seven year run, giving way to the MGB. This car, a 1962, was owned and comprehensively restored by an MG collector and enthusiast. The frame off, nut & bolt restoration was true to the original, using what is believed to be the original three bearing B engine, four speed gear box and rear end. Refinished in its original Chariot Red finish and Beige interior, this car makes a stunning presentation. A few upgrades were incorporated to improve the driving experience including an electric cooling fan and a modern sound system. This MGA was the driver in his collection having about 5,000 miles added since its recommissioning. Despite the use, it remains in spectacular cosmetic and mechanical condition. This car along with one of its TD stablemates was purchased from the collector’s widow, stored since his death in 2006. The cars were delivered to Coventry Motors for inspection and sorting late last year, where they were made road worthy once again. This MGA starts right up, idles smoothly when cold. It runs and drives very well, pulling strong behind all 94 horsepower, shifting smoothly through all four gears. Steering is tight, suspension firm but not uncomfortable. Equipped with front disk brakes, it will haul it down when called upon without drama. Everything is in working order. It has a new top and tonneau covers. A few very minor chips and scuffs from use, will easily place at any car show. It is still a very strong #2++ quality. -Vehicle is on consignment and at our clients home -Please Call First and talk to a rep at 231-468-2809 EXT 1 -Showroom is by appointment only Please Call -If you would like a FREE Listing please visit our consignment page or CallTrim: ConvertibleDoors: 2
