1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
Vehicle Details
Listing Description
This beautiful Chevelle has been owned by myself for 34 years and undergone two restorations in that time with the last being with-in the past 8 years. This Chevelle is a custom ride modeling the SS look so it's not a number matching car. The car has under gone a frame off during the first rebuild back in 1985. All repair or replacement panels that were used are original Chevy Stamped Panels as no reproduced aftermarket panels were available at that time. I have pictures of that original build for anyone who wishes to see. The Car has always been garage Keep and not driven in bad weather. This car has been shown at many Car Shows and taken several trophies over its 35 years but is also fun just to go driving around. The color code is 'code24' from Chevrolet Z24 color chart. The SS Strips are painted on and clear coated over and the entire cars gloss has a deep appearance when looking at the paint job. The interior is like new condition with LED's lighting it up after dark and a Dakota digital dash kit showing you all that is going on. The 'Turbo Action' shifter is made into the original floor console which also has 1.5' dia. AutoMeter 'Shift-Lite' that is adjustable to the RMP you wish it to come on at. The car has a very nice Alpine Head unit w/amps that blast out the music to 6 interior speakers and a customer mounted Sub's and Amp in the Trunk. Under the hood is a recently Built (past 5 years) SB 350 that has a .40 over bore and a balanced '.40' over stocker kit which makes it now a 385. It's a 4-bolt main motor and has Alum heads with solid lifters and roller rockers w/guides all getting fed from a high-volume oil pump w/slash guard in a 7qt. oil pan. The pistons are dished so that a supercharger could be added later if you wish (I have not gotten around to that yet). It has an alum. high rise intake with a Demon 750 cfm carburetor. It has a modern HEI ignition w/Performance ignition control. The mechanical fan has been removed with an electrical fan controller in its place and all Alum. pully's and chrome housing on the power steering, alternator, etc. The Fuel pump is an Edelbrock high volume pump to be sure this motor is feed as it needs to be. The transmission is a Turbo 350 with a B&M Shift kit. I have upgraded to have power brakes with the Front brakes being a Wilwood disc conversion kit. The car is also set up with a 'Line Lock' Stage Brake kit which is fun to play around with. The car has a modified 10 bolt rear end (Chrome Cover) with 'Moser' C-Clip Eliminators which replace the factory Axle Retention and outer seal/Bearing to provide a much safer system with larger HP/Torque engines. It has a positive locking differential and Richmond 3.55 Performance Ring & Pinion. The Exhaust is 2.5' cross flow system from Headers back with Flowmaster mufflers. This car is reliable and fun to drive. There are no known problems with its performance.
