Listing Description

1964 Chevrolet Impala SS with 409 engine (L33), Rare GM only made about 8,000 409's in 1964 and most were 4 speeds, this car has the 3 speed Automatic on the floor, so it's really rare. If you are looking for a great car to restore or just drive as you restore, then check this out.The 409 engine was the start of the muscle craze in the 60's and 70's, the numbers match, I ran the engine block code and it is a 1964 engine. The Body Code Tag on the car also verifies this car is a 1964 SS Impala with the (1447) code. The car is in pretty good shape, won't need much to make it road worthy, it starts and sounds great, the transmission works. It came with standard brakes which needs bled. The car has some rust in the usual locations on the early 60's, the lower quarter panel needs repair, either a patch panel or if you are going to restore to mint condition, I suggest full panels. The body won't take much body work to get ready for paint, the floor pans seem good, the trunk has very little rust in the bottom section. Missing are several of the taillights, easy to find replacements on the net, all the glass is good except for the front windshield which has a crack, also missing is two sections of the side body molding, another easy find on the net. All the other molding seems to be their except for couple emblems. The interior is overall in good condition, the headliner looks good too. Looks like someone took the original Tach out as it has screws holes in the dash underneath.Doors: 2
