Listing Description
1971 Datsun 240z. Nice Series 1 240z. she's working pretty well at 45 years old! Mechanically, the car is in good driving condition. It was restored by the original owners in the mid 80s, and they did a good job because only recently has she began to fade a bit. The original SU carbs are well tuned, the 4 speed shifts well, and she starts up pretty easily(surprising given the recent weather). The car has an upgraded MSD ignition, which works pretty well compared to the stock system, but it was never hooked up to the tachometer. The interior itself is pretty nice. The dash has a crack, and there's some wear on the Coolant Temp Dial and steering wheel, but it looks and feels 'very' good for its age. The radio works well with aftermarket speakers installed by the previous owner, and she tracks straight as far as I can tell. New parts on this car include... - Rear struts and brake lines - Brake pads/shoes at all 4 corners - New battery - Newer seats - New oil/filter, transmission fluid, and spark plugs - New seals and weather stripping - New radiator As with any 240z however, rust is the biggest issue. She has some on the drivers side tip of the hood, the driver door, and some is beginning to bubble up on the rear gate and the rocker panels. Also in terms of mechanical issues, the car has an exhaust least at the cylinder 1 section of the manifold(the front of the engine), and the tachometer doesn't work. In the next coming weeks, I plan on fixing both of these issues(new header and gasket plus a tach adapter harness), but the car is still healthy and easy to drive regardless. Lastly, the doors require a bit of force to close due to the newer thicker weather stripping and a bit of sag.Doors: 2
