Gateway Classic Cars of Kansas City

Although it carries the Kansas City name, this Gateway Classic Cars showroom is on the Kansas side of the metro, on South Lone Elm Road in Olathe. It opened in 2019 and, according to the company, has since been visited by a number of local car clubs. The store is part of a consignment network that began near St. Louis in 1999: vehicles on the floor are owned by private sellers, and Gateway acts as the selling agent, handling photos, advertising, buyer calls and paperwork. For a buyer, that means the price reflects the owner's target plus the dealer's margin, and questions about a car's history are answered through the showroom. Gateway accepts trades that meet its standards and works with an outside lender for financing. The doors are open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
