Listing Description

1959 Dodge Coronet 2 Door Post. The genius of legendary auto designer Virgil Exner is no more apparent anywhere than on this 1959 Dodge. The long, sleek, flowing tail fins, the slanted “B” pillar and the chrome trimmed “eyebrow” treatment are just a few of the game changing designs on this famous cab forward look. The Coronet has been refinished as necessary and appears excellent in every way. After being stripped and block sanded a new coat of the factory shade of white paint has been applied and looks stunning. There have never been any rust repairs or collision damage on the car anywhere including the undercarriage. All chrome and bright work are excellent in appearance. Most of the upholstery remains factory original save for the cushion inserts in the front seats which have been inserted with a non original material. I am now searching for a piece of the original cloth to rectify this. Some of the other original seating insert material is a tad threadbare but for original it is most acceptable. There is some age staining on the headliner but there are no tears or rips. The top of the seat backs have some sunburn but display well. The door panels are excellent as is the carpet. The dash is in unbelievable condition with the original finish and all gauges and instruments are in great working order. There is also a very nice factory original accessory mopar floor mat. Front seat belts have been added for your safety. The car is radio delete. A 383 V-8 with 4 barrel carburetor and a 3 speed torque flight transmission power the car. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt within the last 3,000 miles and are in excellent condition with no issues at all. Period correct finned aluminum valve covers and air cleaner have been installed for that nostalgic look and I believe we have the original ones as well. The car has power steering and disc brakes have been added along with all new stainless steel brake lines to make for a more pleasurable driving experience. The exhaust, cooling and fuel systems have been attended to as well with new mufflers and tailpipes, new radiator and new fuel lines as well as a reconditioned fuel tank. The original wheel covers are beautiful and there are five good wide whitewall tires. i also have the original build sheet. There are receipts with the car that total more than we are asking. This Coronet screams 1950’s and is a great looking great driving car that you may drive everyday with confidence while it appreciates!Doors: 2
