Carroll Street Classics

Carroll Street Classics is a classic car dealership in Manchester, New Hampshire, operating from 68 Carroll St. Its website describes the business as handling classic car storage, sales, service, consignment, repair and help locating a specific vehicle for a buyer. A directory profile found during research dates the company to 1996, though the business does not state a founding year on its own site, so treat that date as unconfirmed.

How the business works

Carroll Street Classics is a dealer that also takes cars on consignment, and it combines both with a service and storage operation. That mix means some of the cars on its lot are owned outright, while others may belong to private owners who have asked the shop to sell on their behalf. If you are interested in a particular car, ask whose name is on the title and where the car is kept. For owners thinking about the consignment route, how classic car consignment works explains fees, timelines and what to ask a dealer before handing over the keys.

What they sell

The inventory leans toward American muscle and sports cars from roughly the 1960s through the 1980s. At the time of research the site catalogued about 155 vehicles, including around 26 Corvettes, 7 Mustangs and 6 Camaros, along with several Porsches. A few late-model cars also appear in stock, so the lot is not purely vintage. The company also says it will help track down a specialty vehicle for buyers who do not see what they want on the lot.

Buying from Carroll Street Classics

The company's site lists several buyer services:

• Financing options for buyers who need them.
• Trade-in evaluations for owners moving from one car to the next.
• Transportation of vehicles to out-of-state buyers.
• Vehicle location help for cars not currently in stock.

As with any classic purchase, ask for the VIN, title status and service records, and consider an independent inspection before you pay, especially if you are buying from another state.

Service and storage

Beyond sales, the business says it offers repair and service work and storage for classic cars. This is useful for owners in the Manchester area who want a single shop to maintain and keep a collector vehicle. Details such as storage rates, capacity and heated or climate-controlled space are not published on the site, so call for specifics.

Two Manchester locations

The company lists a second location, Carroll St. Auto Annex, at 149 S Main St, Manchester, with its own phone number. The main showroom is the Carroll Street address. Some directories list the business under the name Carroll St Auto, which appears to be the same operation.

Reputation

The company's site does not publish a history, owner names or hours. Directory and review listings show feedback that is generally positive, but we have not verified individual ratings, so check current Google and Facebook reviews for yourself. Judge any seller on the specific car in front of you: confirm the paperwork and get promises about condition in writing.
