Greenbrier Classic Cars

Greenbrier Classic Cars is a classic car dealer at 3200 N Jefferson St in Lewisburg, West Virginia, in the Greenbrier Valley. West Virginia Secretary of State records show Greenbrier Classic Cars, LLC was formed on November 7, 2017, with John Hirt as its member. The company's contact page lists Hirt as owner and sales.

How the business works

Greenbrier is a dealer selling vehicles it stocks, not a consignment house. The company describes its approach as a "search and rescue team" for forgotten and unappreciated cars, and says it only stocks vehicles it likes. That is the company's own characterization, so treat it as a statement of philosophy rather than a measure of quality.

What they sell

The company's site lists showroom cars, project cars and parts cars, mostly from the 1960s through the 2000s. Examples at the time of research included a 1960 Devin D, Porsche, Lotus, Mercedes and Corvette models, and 1960s British sports cars. It also sells motorcycles and enclosed trailers. An aggregator listing describes a showroom of more than 60 cars in about 6,000 square feet, which we could not confirm on the dealer's own site.

Services

The dealer's site lists upholstery work, transport, detailing and a small gift shop with apparel and die-cast models. For financing it names partner lenders: JJ Best Banc and Co, LightStream, Woodside Credit and Collector Car Lending. Terms depend on the lender and your credit, so compare offers. Before buying, it is worth reading up on what to check before you buy, then asking for the VIN, title and service records.

Community events

A July 2023 article in the West Virginia Daily News reported that the dealership hosts Cars and Coffee on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon, weather permitting. Check the dealer's Facebook page to see whether the event is still running.

Reputation

The dealer's Birdeye profile showed 3.1 stars from 17 reviews at the time of research. One reviewer praised a staff member for answering every question and showing everything on the cars. With a middling average, read the recent reviews yourself and arrange an independent inspection for any significant purchase.
