Description
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, Cortez Silver, 454 Big Block, 4-Speed Manual Transmission, Canadian Build Sheet Finished in one of the most desirable factory color combinations available, this beautiful 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is dressed in its correct Code 14 Cortez Silver paint accented by bold Black SS Stripes over a Black Bucket Seat Interior. Combining timeless muscle car styling with big block performance, this Chevelle delivers the look, sound, and driving experience enthusiasts are searching for. Under the functional Cowl Induction hood sits a powerful 454 cubic inch Big Block V8 (non-matching) paired to a highly desirable 4-Speed Manual Transmission, giving the driver complete control and delivering the kind of performance that made the 1970 Chevelle SS a true American legend.
Backing the drivetrain is a rugged 12-Bolt Rear End, making this an outstanding car to drive and enjoy. This Chevelle benefits from a clean older restoration that has held up exceptionally well over the years. The body is straight, the chrome and trim present beautifully, and the paint was recently wet sanded and professionally buffed, bringing out an outstanding shine and depth that complements the Cortez Silver finish perfectly.
While there are only a few minor blemishes consistent with an older restoration, the overall presentation remains extremely impressive. Inside, the Black Bucket Seat Interior is both comfortable and sporty, featuring a desirable Tilt Steering Column, Factory Tachometer and Gauge Package, and an upgraded Custom Stereo for improved driving enjoyment. Every detail comes together to create the classic muscle car atmosphere enthusiasts appreciate.
Rolling on correct 14-inch SS Wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A Raised White Letter Tires, this Chevelle has the perfect period-correct stance and appearance. Best of all, it runs and drives exceptionally well, making it equally enjoyable at local cruise nights, weekend car shows, or simply out on the open road. Adding to its desirability, this Chevelle includes its Canadian Build Sheet, an excellent piece of documentation that further enhances its collectability.
Whether you're looking for an investment-quality muscle car to enjoy, a weekend cruiser, or an iconic Chevrolet that turns heads everywhere it goes, this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS checks all the boxes with its outstanding color combination, big block power, four-speed transmission, and exceptional overall presentation. Chevrolet Chevelle SS Buyer's Guide
Mike Sullivan here. The Chevelle SS needs no introduction, but it does need honest context: this is one of the most desirable muscle cars in the market, which means it's also one of the most heavily cloned. Understanding what you're buying — and paying for — requires more homework on a Chevelle SS than on almost any other classic. Get it right, and you've got one of the great American performance machines. Get it wrong, and you've paid a premium for a base Malibu with SS emblems bolted on.
The SS package ran from 1964 through 1972 on the A-body Chevelle platform. Each year produced something meaningful, but the 1969–1972 era is where the market concentrates. The LS6 454 of 1970 is widely considered the most powerful muscle car engine ever offered in a factory car, and a correct, documented LS6 Chevelle is the holy grail for serious collectors.
