Cars Remember When

Cars Remember When is a family-owned classic car dealership and restoration business in the Denver area. Its sales and service location is at 4505 S Santa Fe Dr in Englewood, Colorado, and its restoration center is a few miles away at 5794 S Datura St in Littleton. The company describes itself as a full-service classic car and performance destination, covering sales, consignment, frame-off restoration, mechanical service and dyno tuning.

History

According to the company's about page, the business began in March 2015 in Littleton, restoring and servicing classic cars. It expanded in June 2018 with Cars Remember When Auto Sales, a dealership in Englewood with an on-site mechanical shop. Earlier descriptions of the Englewood building put it at about 38,000 square feet, with room for more than 120 vehicles, and the Littleton restoration center at about 18,000 square feet. The company does not publish the names of its owners on the pages reviewed.

How the business works

Cars Remember When mixes three models. It buys and sells its own stock, it takes cars on consignment, and it makes cash offers to people who want to sell a car outright. Its site says it handles "buying, selling, and trading" and focuses on antique, classic, muscle and domestic vehicles, with particular interest in American muscle cars. The restoration and mechanical side of the business runs alongside the dealership, so cars bought there can also be serviced or upgraded in-house.

What it sells

The inventory is mostly American classics and muscle cars, with the company's own site featuring a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette and a 1969 Dodge Daytona Hemi on its pages. Its inventory is divided into current stock, coming soon and sold cars, which makes it easy to see what has moved. Stock changes constantly, so for a wider view of what is on the market nearby, see Colorado classic cars for sale.

Consigning or selling a car

The company's consignment page says cars are advertised on eBay, ClassicCars.com, Classics on Autotrader, Hemmings and other sites, with a photo shoot, a YouTube video and a written sales article included. It says cars are stored indoors until sold and that the showroom sees an average of more than 200 walk-ins per week. Those are the company's own figures. Owners weighing their options can read about how classic car consignment works before asking any dealer for terms, since the page does not list a commission rate or contract length.

Sellers who prefer a quick sale can ask about a cash offer. The company says it makes "honest, fair, and transparent" offers with no pressure, though the amount depends on the car and cannot be judged in advance.

Services beyond sales

• Restoration: rotisserie, frame-off restorations, paint and bodywork at the Littleton center, which has its own phone number, (303) 794-6201.
• Mechanical service: diagnostics, maintenance and repair at the Englewood shop.
• Performance: high-performance tuning, including an all-wheel-drive dyno.
• Detailing and dry ice blasting: both appear as service pages on the site.
• Financing: the site has a financing page; buyers should ask about lenders, rates and terms directly.

Reputation

Review counts exist on public sites, including Yelp pages for both the Englewood and Littleton locations, but the figures were not confirmed in enough detail to cite here, and no BBB rating was confirmed. Buyers should read recent reviews and ask for a pre-purchase inspection of any car, as they would with any dealer.
