Napoli Classics

Napoli Classics is the classic car division of Napoli Motors, a family dealership group on the Boston Post Road in Milford, Connecticut. The classic operation is run by Lenny Napoli, who also owns the group's Nissan and Kia stores, and the company says he brings more than 50 years of dealership experience to it. The focus, by the company's description, is mostly muscle cars, though it says it welcomes all types of classics.

Where it comes from

According to the company's own history, Napoli Motors opened in 1959 as a Pontiac dealer, added Datsun (later Nissan) in 1969, and in 1996 opened the Napoli Indoor Auto Outlet, a used car dealership. Napoli Classics grew out of that outlet. The company says it began as a sideline handled by Lenny Napoli to bring people into the indoor showroom and turned out to be successful on its own. The classic division itself has no stated founding year, so none is given here.

How the business works

Napoli Classics describes itself as a dealer that buys, sells and consigns classic cars. That makes it a mix of its own stock and cars offered for outside owners. Because the operation shares a campus with a new car franchise, the classics are sold in a conventional dealership setting, with a sales staff and a service department behind them. The company says every car is brought back to the dealership, where mechanics run performance and safety checks before it is offered.

What it sells

The site lists American muscle cars first, alongside sports cars, European classics and vintage trucks. Its inventory pages have shown more than 50 vehicles at a time, though stock changes constantly and any number should be treated as a snapshot. The dealer also advertises on several national classic car marketplaces, including Autotrader Classics, Carsforsale, AutaBuy and AllCollectorCars.

Buying from Napoli Classics

The company lists financing, mechanical servicing, performance and safety inspections, and parts availability among its services. It says it provides references from past customers on request. Shipping is not described on the pages we reviewed, so out-of-state buyers should ask about delivery directly. As with any dealer purchase, ask for the title status and service history, and consider an independent inspection before you commit.

Selling or consigning a car

Owners who want to sell can talk to the dealer about buying their car outright or placing it on consignment. Consignment terms, fees and who pays for reconditioning vary from dealer to dealer and are not published here, so get them in writing first. Reputation

The parent company, Napoli Motors Inc., appears on the Better Business Bureau as an accredited business with an A+ rating and a listed founding year of 1959. That profile is for the dealership group rather than the classic division specifically, and we could not confirm a separate BBB profile for the classics operation. We did not find enough verified customer reviews on a single platform to quote a star rating.
