Cofer's Classics

Cofer's Classics is a Memphis, Tennessee, shop focused on muscle cars from the 1960s and early 1970s. Its website says it was established in 1976 as Cofer's Garage, and the business also appears in listings as Cofer's Body Shop and Garage. The address is 2769 Appling Center Cove, Memphis, TN 38133, and the phone number is (901) 922-5713. This profile uses the shop's own website and carries no endorsement. The shop has no partnership with Classic Cars Arena.

Who they are

The site says Cofer's Garage has been "preserving history through the automotive industry" since 1976, which would make it one of the longer-running shops in this directory. The site does not name its owners or staff. Earlier research notes describe it as family-run, but we could not confirm that from the pages we read.

What they restore

The website names muscle cars of the 1960s to the early 1970s as its specialty. It does not publish a list of marques, so ask which makes and models the shop has handled most.

Work done in-house

The site says the shop provides a number of services on classic muscle cars without itemizing them. Directory listings associate the business with collision and body work, paint, mechanical repair and full restoration. Those are listing descriptions, not a published service menu, so ask for specifics on what is done in the shop and what is sent out.

Projects and awards

A gallery on the site shows roughly 25 restoration projects. The pages we read do not caption the vehicles in detail and do not list awards, so none are claimed here. The gallery is the best way to judge the standard of finish before you call.

Working with the shop

The site offers a contact form and no published process for estimates or billing. Budget conversations are best had early, and our restoration cost guide explains how muscle car budgets typically build up.

Reputation

Listings show a Birdeye review page, but we did not open it ourselves, so we are not quoting a rating. Read the reviews directly and ask for customer references.

Visiting

The site lists hours of Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Call (901) 922-5713 before you go. Shoppers can also browse classic cars for sale in Tennessee.
