About Ragtops and Roadsters

Ragtops and Roadsters is a classic and antique car restoration business with two Pennsylvania locations: a restoration works at 70 South Franklin Street in Pottstown and a showroom and shop at 203 South 4th Street in Perkasie. Michael Engard started it in 1990, and it has been owned by a private group of car enthusiasts since he retired in 2021. Our guide on questions to ask a restoration shop is a good companion, and you can also browse classic cars for sale in Pennsylvania.

History

The shop's About page says Engard began in a small alley shop in Perkasie focused on British sports cars, moved into the Perkasie showroom in 1995, and acquired Pollock Auto Restoration in 2008, which brought the 26,000-square-foot Pottstown building into the business. That building began as a silk mill in the early 1920s and was later used by William Pollock for his antique vehicle collection. Trade coverage reports that investment group TAF Automotive bought both companies when Engard retired in spring 2021.
