The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is the pinnacle of the collector car world. Held annually on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links overlooking Carmel Bay, it draws the rarest and most beautiful automobiles on earth. Approximately 200 cars are selected from thousands of applicants — each judged on authenticity, originality, and elegance. A Best of Show win at Pebble Beach is the highest honor any collector car can receive.
The same week brings the Monterey Car Week, encompassing multiple auctions (RM Sotheby's, Bonhams, Gooding & Company), the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca, the Quail Motorsports Gathering, and Concorso Italiano — the largest concentration of collector car events on the planet.

History
The Concours began in 1950 as part of a road rally organized by the Pebble Beach Company and the Sports Car Club of America. The first event had 30 entries and was judged on the 17-Mile Drive. By the 1960s it had moved permanently to the 18th fairway, and by the 1980s it had become the global reference point for collector car values and taste. A win here — or even a class win — can add six figures to a car's market value overnight.
