Drager's International Classic Sales
Family run Burlington, WA classic car, truck and motorcycle dealer that dates its roots to 1934 and works mainly by appointment.
About Drager's International Classic Sales
Drager's International Classic Sales, also known as Dragers Classic Cars and, to its owner, Drager's Clubhouse, is a family run classic car dealer at 1645 Walton Drive in Burlington, Washington. According to the business, the Drager name has been in the vehicle trade since 1934. Today the operation is led by Jeri Drager, who says he has worked in the family business since 1960, with his son Andrew now working alongside him.
History
The company's own history page says Jeri's father, Otto, started Drager's Harley-Davidson in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1934. The business later moved to Bremerton and, in 1950, to Seattle. Jeri writes that he bought his first classic car around 1970, a 1935 Packard Super 8 sedan, and that buying and selling cars gradually became a full-time business. In 1986 he bought a building where, in his words, he sold almost exclusively classic cars. In 2020 the business left Seattle for its current property in Burlington, which he says lets him keep all the cars under cover.
How the business works
Drager's is a dealer that buys and sells its own stock rather than a consignment house. Jeri says he now watches what he buys closely and wants only very nice cars and trucks. The company operates mainly by appointment, so it is worth calling before a visit. Some cars are also offered through online auctions, and the sold page on its site lists a number of Bring a Trailer sales.
What Drager's sells
The inventory spans a wide range of years. A recent look at the company's site showed vehicles from the 1920s through the late 1990s, with a strong share of American pickups, coupes and convertibles. Examples listed included a 1963 Corvette split window coupe, a 1957 Chevrolet 150, a 1970 Jaguar XKE roadster, a 1961 Corvair Rampside, several Chevrolet 3100 pickups and a 1950 Oldsmobile 88 convertible. Many cars carry "call for price" rather than a posted figure, and a few lower priced newer vehicles sit alongside the classics. The company also deals in vintage motorcycles and in collectibles such as signs and toys, which are listed on a separate page of its site.
Buying from Drager's
The company's site does not describe a financing program, a deposit policy or consignment terms, so buyers should ask directly. It does list three transport companies as shipping partners: Concours Transport Systems, West Coast Shipping and Tri-Western Transport. Testimonials on its own site describe out of area buyers who bought a car or motorcycle remotely and had it delivered. As with any dealer purchase, ask for the title status and VIN, request detailed photos or a walk-around video, and consider an independent inspection. Our guide to buying from a classic car dealer covers the questions worth asking before you commit.
The Clubhouse
The Burlington building is more than a sales lot. The company describes it as a dream garage, with a big screen TV, a sound system, a stage and a two post lift used to inspect, clean and photograph the underside of cars. Walls are covered with signs, posters and memorabilia, and Jeri says he displays several of his old motorcycles. Car clubs are invited to arrange tours. The Burlington Chamber of Commerce directory also notes that the facility can be rented for parties, meetings and workshops.
Reputation
The Burlington Chamber of Commerce lists the business as a member. Its own testimonials page carries praise from past customers, though self-published testimonials should be read with that in mind. We did not find enough review data on independent sites to quote a star rating here, so buyers may want to check current reviews before visiting.
