Description
1977 GMC log truck with a self-loading boom/cable system. The cable is about 100' long (and can be extended) to pull logs from far away, and then the boom turns so that it is fully self loading. It's a newly rebuilt 5-speed transmission with 2-speed rear end, all of drive train works well, transmission and engine, although the loading system needs a new cable and some work and we stopped using it since we now have a Bobcat and another self-loading truck that loads much heavier logs.
The cab is clean and generally good condition. Easy to drive for an older truck. Speedometer and fuel gauge do not work (we use a GPS), but everything else is fine. We have added a heavy duty bumper and receiver hitch on this truck, and beefed up the boom loader and other components for safety also.
After several repairs and upgrades on the boom and loading mechanism, we have loaded 3500-4500# logs with it many times over the past few years.

GMC C/K Series Buyer's Guide
Robert Halloran here. When most people think about the classic GMC C/K, they think about the half-ton C10/C15 β the truck that's become the darling of the restomod scene. That's a fine truck. But the C/K Series extends well beyond the half-ton, and some of the most interesting β and undervalued β examples wear the C25 and C35 designations. Three-quarter-ton and one-ton GMC trucks were the backbone of small business America for thirty years, and they deserve a proper buyer's guide of their own.
The C/K platform ran from 1960 through the end of the classic era in 1991 (the OBS generation continued to 1998, but the pre-1991 trucks are the collector targets). In that span, GMC built a complete range of work trucks that shared the same basic architecture across every payload class while offering genuinely different capabilities. Understanding the full family makes you a smarter buyer at any price point.
