Renown Auto Restoration

Renown Auto Restoration is a restoration, paint and mechanical shop on FM 2252 northeast of San Antonio, Texas. Its website says it works on classic vehicles, hot rods, antiques, trucks and muscle cars, and that it serves customers from San Antonio, South Texas and across the country.

History

The shop's site says it has operated for over a decade, and a business listing we saw says about 20 years. A search listing gave 2006 as a founding year, but we could not tie that to a published source, so treat the start date as approximate. Owners are not named on the pages we reviewed.

Restoration levels

Renown organizes its restoration work into three levels, which it names Restomod, Concourse and ProTour. The shop says it aims to return a car to its original condition while adding modern functionality. Choosing between a period-correct build and an updated driver changes both the schedule and the bill, as our guide to questions to ask a restoration shop explains.

Work done in-house

The site lists auto restoration, paint and body work, mechanical services, chassis dynamometer testing and auto detailing, including paint correction. The shop says it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology and guarantees its work. The terms of that guarantee are not published, so ask for them in writing.

Notable projects

We did not find named award-winning builds or documented concours results on the pages we reviewed, so we list none.

Reputation

We did not verify a review rating directly, so read current reviews and ask the shop for references.
