1966 Chevrolet Pickup This 1966 Chevy Pickup has been extensively upgraded with a focus on performance, reliability, and drivability. Power comes from a new 350ci crate motor rated at 350 horsepower, paired with a new NV4500 5-speed manual transmission and new clutch, delivering strong performance and excellent road manners. The drivetrain includes a rebuilt 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears and posi traction.

The fuel system has been fully replaced with a new fuel tank, electric fuel pump, and all new fuel lines. Cooling is handled by a new aluminum radiator, along with all new hoses and belts. Braking and suspension have been thoroughly updated with new four-wheel power disc brakes, all new brake lines, and a completely refreshed suspension, including new springs, shocks, control arm bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends.

A new exhaust system has also been installed. Interior updates include a new seat, new sun visor, and a new heater system. All dash components are reported to function properly except the speedometer. The truck rides on new 255/70R17 tires mounted on American Racing aluminum wheels, and features new exterior lighting.

For twenty-seven years, the C/K series covered everything from half-ton haulers to one-ton workhorses across three distinct styling generations. If you're looking at a Chevrolet truck from this era and it isn't specifically labeled C10 or K10 in the listing, the buying principles here apply across the whole family.

What to Check Before Buying

Common Issues

Cab corner rust is universal across all C/K generations — the drainage channel routes water directly into the corner structure. Reproduction corners exist but inner structure must be assessed. Frame rust at kick-up sections is the structural concern. The 350 and 454 V8s are robust with enormous aftermarket support but high-mileage engines commonly need valve train work. On K-series trucks the Dana 44 front axle develops knuckle seal leaks and limited-slip wear. The TH350 and TH400 automatics are generally durable — delayed engagement from cold indicates a seal issue. Square Body trucks (1973–1987) rust at the lower rear cab panels above the cab mounts.
