About Classic & Collectible Cars

Classic & Collectible Cars is a family-run collector car dealer in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to its own Our Story page, it was established in 1982 in North Las Vegas by Larry Nicholl, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, and it has been owned and operated by his son Michael (Mike) Nicholl since 1997. The company calls itself the longest continuously operating classic car dealership in Nevada, a claim that is its own and not independently verified here. It sells, buys, consigns and appraises classic and special interest vehicles, and it also rents period cars to film and photo productions.

History and ownership

The company says it began as a Mustang parts, restoration and collector car shop. In 1986 Larry Nicholl sold the parts and restoration side to concentrate on selling and appraising classic and special interest cars. Michael Nicholl took the business over in 1997 and, in his words, saw the early internet as a new way to market collector cars. At its peak the dealership says it occupied a leased 15,000 square foot facility holding about 65 cars. In 2013 the family moved into its current building at 3701 Sirius Avenue, a former bakery that the owners say had been gutted by fire. The site also notes that Larry Nicholl died in 2024 and that Brett Nicholl is expected to become the third generation to lead the company.

What it sells

The dealer says it keeps a deliberately small inventory of roughly 15 to 20 vehicles so that staff know each car personally, and that it turns over about half of the stock each month. Its stated focus is driver quality collector cars at market competitive prices, with the most active price bracket between $10,000 and $30,000. Cars seen on the home page in October 2026 included a 1949 Willys Jeepster, a 1962 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, a 1966 Chevrolet C20 pickup, a 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, a 1974 Volkswagen Thing and a 1980 Corvette project, along with a few later model vehicles. Stock changes often, so check the current listings.

Buying from Classic & Collectible Cars

The company says about 90 percent of its sales start online and that upwards of 60 percent go to buyers outside the United States, with cars shipped to countries including Australia, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. It lists photos, shipping help and financing options for buyers. Its Terms of Sale page sets out the rules in plain language:

  • A holding deposit is required to take a car off the market: $500 for vehicles under $25,000 and $1,000 above that. It holds the car for five days, is applied to the price, and is non-refundable.
  • All vehicles are sold as is, with no warranties, and the dealer says it cannot guarantee a car's history, including matching numbers.
  • Final payment is by cash, cashier's check or bank wire, and a $249 documentation fee is added.
  • Test drives are allowed for serious buyers, and independent inspections are welcomed by appointment.

Because deposits are non-refundable, it makes sense to ask for a detailed walk-around video and to arrange an independent inspection before paying.

Consignment, selling and appraisals

The dealer buys classic and special interest cars in any condition, running or not, including whole collections, but only with a clean title. It says it can pay immediately once a deal is struck and handles transport. Owners who prefer to keep ownership can use its consignment program, which its page says was to launch in February 2026. The listed schedule includes a $350 initiation fee covering the first month, a safety inspection, a market survey and a detail, then $150 per month and a commission of 8 to 12 percent of the sale price depending on the price band. For anyone weighing that model, selling a classic on consignment explains how fees and timelines usually compare. The company is also a Bring a Trailer local partner and offers auction management, photography and storage.

Separate from sales, it performs appraisals for insurance, estates and diminished value claims (its page lists a $299 field inspection within Las Vegas and Henderson) and pre-purchase inspections at $399. Its rental cars are for commercial production and display use only.

Reputation

The company says its work has appeared on History Channel's Counting Cars and that productions including MTV and the Travel Channel have rented its vehicles. These are its own statements. No independently verified rating or review count is quoted here. As with any collector car purchase, judge each car on its paperwork and inspection.
