Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas sits on Mustang Drive in Grapevine, beside DFW Airport and between downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth. Opened in January 2016, it was the eleventh showroom in the Gateway network, which started in the St. Louis area in 1999. The cars are consigned: a seller keeps the title until a buyer is found, and the asking price combines the seller's figure with Gateway's margin, so on some cars there may be room to talk. For out-of-town shoppers the airport location is practical, since a flight, a taxi ride and a close look at the car can fit into one day. The company says local custom shops regularly bring it restomods and custom builds alongside stock muscle cars and trucks. The showroom is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
