Aurora Autoworks

Aurora Autoworks is an antique and classic car restoration shop at 39025 Warren Road in Westland, Michigan. It says it has restored cars "since day one," from turn-of-the-century classics through muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s. Budget-minded owners can start with our classic car restoration cost guide. This profile is independent and Classic Cars Arena has no tie to the shop.

Who they are and some history

The Better Business Bureau lists the business as started on March 21, 2002, and not BBB accredited. Business directories name Robert "Bob" Vartanian as manager, and customer reviews mention the owner by first name. The shop's own site does not give a founding date or owner, so treat the date as a directory fact. The business is also listed as Aurora Auto Works and Car Art.

What they restore

The shop describes its range as turn-of-the-century classics to 1960s and 1970s muscle cars. Its site markets the work as restoration of antique, classic and hot rod muscle cars, and listings say it also buys and sells cars. We did not find dated, named projects on the pages we read.

Work done in-house

• Full frame-off rebuilds, as marketed on the shop's site.
• Body and paint restoration.
• Mechanical restoration of engines, transmissions and related components.
• Electrical and interior work, including rewiring and reupholstering.

Notable projects and awards

The shop's site lists no awards, and we found none documented by a third party. Directory descriptions call its work national award-winning, but they name no event, year or car, so we do not repeat the claim as fact. If awards matter to you, ask for the show results and the owners of those cars.

Working with the shop

The site does not describe an estimate process, billing method, deposits or progress updates. Reviewers on directory sites praise the owner's knowledge and fairness, but we are not quoting individual reviews. Ask for a written scope and a schedule before leaving a car.
