About Vette Works
Vette Works is a Corvette restoration and repair shop at 5823 49th Street North in St. Petersburg, Florida. Its tagline is "Corvette Spoken Here," and the shop calls itself a full-service restoration and repair facility. This profile draws on the shop's website and a public review listing, and the shop is not affiliated with us.
Who they are
The website does not give a founding year or publish ownership details, so we do not state either. Customer reviews on public listings mention a long-time National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) member and judge running the shop, but the shop's own pages do not name him, so treat that as unconfirmed.
What they restore
Corvettes are the focus. The shop says it can accommodate anything a customer's vehicle requires, and its materials describe restorations aimed at show judging as well as repair and service of cars that are driven.
Work done in-house
The services page lists full body-on and body-off restoration, engine and drivetrain work, suspension and steering, brakes and exhaust, upholstery and carpeting, and performance upgrades. The site also mentions parts availability and technical sessions. The shop says it treats each vehicle as if it were its own.
Notable projects and awards
The shop says its restorations have earned Bloomington Gold, NCRS, National Top Flight, Duntov, McLellan, Bowtie and concours awards, and that its cars have sold at Barrett-Jackson auctions. These are the shop's own claims, and we did not independently confirm individual awards. The site also points to appearances at the Cigar City Concours and local car shows, and to a podcast appearance.
Working with the shop
No estimate process, deposit terms or billing method is published. Before committing a numbers-matching car to any shop, it helps to read questions to ask a restoration shop and ask to see work in progress.
Reputation and visiting
A Birdeye listing showed a 4.9 star average from 44 reviews when we checked, and that listing gives weekday hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shop's own site does not list hours, so call first. The shop is at 5823 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33709, phone (727) 685-5466. If you are looking for a car rather than a restoration, browse classic Corvettes for sale.
