Featured in the 2026 issue of All Chevy Performance Magazine (Volume 6, Issue 62), this professionally built 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a masterclass in pro-touring design. It seamlessly blends the iconic Tri-Five silhouette with modern, track-capable performance and luxury-level drivability. Conceived as a no-expense-spared, ground-up project, this Bel Air brings together the talents of some of the best in the business.
The world-renowned crew at Miranda Built in Boynton Beach, Florida, handled the conceptualization, chassis, drivetrain, and custom interior, while the flawless bodywork and paint were executed by V&J Auto Body right here in Lindenhurst, New York. The result is a turn-key, show-stopping street machine that drives like a modern sports car. Performance & Drivetrain
Lift the hood on the CVF billet aluminum hinges, and you'll find a beautifully dressed GM LS3 6.2L (376ci) V8 pushing an impressive 525 horsepower.
The engine bay is a work of art, detailed to perfection. Engine: Chevrolet Performance LS3 with a "Hot Cammed" hydraulic camshaft and L92 rectangular port cylinder heads. Induction & Fuel: Holley Sniper EFI intake manifold and induction system.
Exhaust: Ultimate Headers flowing into a custom 3-inch stainless exhaust system with Borla mufflers for an incredible, muscular tone. Cooling & Accessories: Griffin aluminum radiator and black Holley valve covers. Transmission: 4L70E automatic transmission controlled by a classic Lokar shifter.
Rear End: Strange 9-inch rear axle with 3.73 gears and Moser axles, assembled by Miranda Built. Chassis & Suspension
The foundation of this Bel Air is an original frame that was stripped bare, fully boxed, reinforced, and powder-coated to handle modern horsepower. Front Suspension: Ridetech adjustable HQ Series coilover shocks, tubular upper and lower control arms, and a MuscleBar sway bar.
Rear Suspension: Ridetech four-link setup with HQ Series coilovers. Steering: Borgeson quick-ratio steering box for tight, responsive handling. Brakes: Wilwood master cylinder feeding 11-inch Wilwood rotors and four-piston calipers on all four corners for massive stopping power.
Exterior Stance & Styling
The body retains its legendary 1955 lines, draped in a flawless two-tone combination of PPG Gypsy Red and India Ivory. Brightwork: Meticulous trim restoration handled by Kevin at SL Metal Restorations in West Babylon, NY, complemented by stock reproduction bumpers and modern LED headlamps and taillights. Wheels: Staggered Schott Accelerator billet wheels (18x8 front, 19x10 rear) provide the perfect aggressive stance.
Tires: Sticky Michelin Pilot Sport rubber (245/50R18 up front, 295/40R19 out back) to plant the power to the pavement. Custom Interior
The cabin, entirely crafted by Miranda Built, is a stunning mix of vintage flavor and modern luxury. Upholstery: A custom-built bench seat wrapped in vibrant red leather featuring a unique, elegant diamond pleat pattern.
The dash is wrapped in smooth ivory leather to perfectly mirror the exterior two-tone theme. Instrumentation: Dakota Digital HDX direct-fit analog gauge kit keeps tabs on the engine's vitals while maintaining a classic look. Controls: A custom Sparc Industries steering wheel wrapped in matching red leather.
Comfort & Entertainment: Ice-cold Vintage Air climate control, custom door panels, custom wiring throughout, and a premium JL Audio entertainment system. Summary
With its verified magazine pedigree, high-end fabrication from Miranda Built, and a laundry list of the best aftermarket components available, this '55 Bel Air leaves nothing to be desired. Classic Chevrolet Bel Air Buyer's Guide
The Chevrolet Bel Air ran from 1950 through 1975 across five distinct generations, but for collectors, the name means one thing above all: the 1955-1957 Tri-Five era. Those three model years define the most iconic Chevrolet body shape ever produced and represent one of the most active segments in the entire classic car market. Whether you're hunting a 1957 fuel-injected convertible, a clean 1955 hardtop, or a survivor 1953-1954 Bel Air with the original Blue Flame six, knowing what separates a documented original from a Chevy 210 dressed up with Bel Air trim is the difference between an honest investment and an expensive lesson.
