Belmont Classic Cars

Belmont Classic Cars is a small, family-owned classic and collector car dealership in Belmont, Ohio, a village in the hills of the Ohio Valley west of Wheeling, West Virginia. Andy and Dana Mistak opened the showroom in October 2017, according to a Times Leader report from that December, after years of collecting cars themselves. The business sells classic, muscle and collector cars, with a particular fondness for mid-year Corvettes and Ford Mustangs, and it also sells automotive memorabilia.

The family behind it

The company's own about text says Andy inherited his love of Corvettes from his father, while Dana's father shared his passion for Mustangs with her. The 2017 Times Leader article describes the Mistaks as Union Local High School graduates and says their three sons helped launch the business: Drew built the website, Devin made promotional videos and Trey handled social media. In that article Andy said he attends car auctions around the country and looks at roughly 2,000 vehicles a year, and that he buys only cars he would want in his own collection. Those are the owners' statements from 2017 and we have not verified them.

What Belmont Classic Cars sells

The dealer describes its inventory as varied, covering muscle cars, antiques, exotics and classics across many makes, models and years. Corvettes and Mustangs are the stated specialty. A recent Carsforsale.com listing page showed five cars, including a 1968 Camaro and a 1984 Corvette, with prices starting at $19,500, but a small inventory turns over, so check what is available before you visit. The 2017 article also described a showroom that mixed fully restored cars with retro furniture, memorabilia and vintage decor. The site adds that if a car is not on the lot, the dealer will search for the one you want.

Buying from the dealer

Belmont Classic Cars is a conventional dealer selling cars it owns rather than a consignment house, and none of the sources we checked mention taking cars on consignment. Its website has a financing page, and the 2017 article said financing was available through Woodside Credit. Another directory listing names J.J. Best Banc as a financing partner. The owner said at the opening that cars were priced below auction estimates to account for the fees a buyer would otherwise pay. That is the dealer's own claim from 2017, so compare any car against current market data. For a general checklist on paperwork, inspections and negotiating, see what to check before you buy.

Online auctions and events

The website lists a Live Auctions tab. The dealer has also run online auctions on HiBid, including a "Simpler Times Classic Car Auction" in August 2024, which was online only with shipping available. The listing noted that all of its vehicles were also for sale locally in the showroom. HiBid showed no active auctions on the dealer's page when we checked. In 2017 the owners said they planned monthly cruise-ins, detailing services and a larger showroom. We could not confirm whether those plans went ahead.

Reputation

The business has operated under the same name in Belmont since 2017 and is listed on Classic.com, RacingJunk, Carsforsale.com, Yelp, Facebook and Instagram, and the Ohio tourism site. We could not open any BBB, Google or Yelp rating page, so no review score is quoted here. Look at current reviews yourself and treat any single review with care. A sensible approach for an out-of-state purchase is to request the title status, a walk-around video and an independent inspection.

Visiting Belmont Classic Cars

Most sources, including the dealer's own Hours and Location page, give the address as 41834 Stenger Rd, Belmont, Ohio 43718, and the phone number as 740-359-8094. One page on its Squarespace site also shows a second Belmont address, 65460 Belmont Morristown Rd, so confirm the location when you call. Showroom hours differ between listings, but the dealer's hours page shows Thursday and Friday afternoons and Saturday, with other days by appointment. Calling ahead is the safest plan. If you are comparing Chevrolet's sports car, you can also browse classic Corvettes for sale on this site.
