Connors Motorcar Company

Connors Motorcar Company is a collector car dealer and restoration business in West Chester, Pennsylvania, a few minutes from downtown and not far from Philadelphia. The company says it has been "buying, selling, and restoring antique and classic cars since 1978," and keeps a modest inventory of high quality collector cars in a 15,000 square foot showroom.

Who they are

The business is led by Carlo M. Connors, who is named on the company's appraisals page as the contact for valuation questions. The site says the team has more than four decades of experience buying and restoring collector cars. It is a small, owner-run operation rather than a high-volume lot, and it describes its stock as unique, quality vehicles instead of a large catalog.

What they sell

Directory listings describe the stock as collector cars, with Corvettes, Austin-Healeys, Porsches and Buick Rivieras among the marques listed. Examples shown on third-party listing pages include a 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6 roadster and a 1987 Corvette Greenwood Edition. Inventory changes frequently, and the company also keeps a sold page. The site says each car on the inventory page comes with more than 100 detailed photographs and a video. If a particular car is not listed, the company says it can try to locate one. Buying from Connors

Visits are welcome, but the company asks buyers to call first to schedule an appointment. For anyone unable to travel, it says pre-purchase inspections are "welcomed and encouraged." The site also lists:

• Financing through J.J. Best, Woodside Credit, Lightstream and Collector Car Leaders.
• Transportation through shipping partners named on its site.
• Insurance and appraisals, with the company offering to inspect a car on a buyer's behalf.

Selling and consigning

The company says it is always interested in buying collector cars and trucks, and will also handle the sale of a car through its consignment program. A consignment request form is on its site, and terms are not published there, so ask about commission, fees and who carries insurance while the car is in the showroom. Our guide to selling a classic on consignment covers the questions worth asking.

Restoration

Beyond sales, the website lists restoration services under the headings body work, engine and mechanical, finishing, engineering, interior and resto mods. Details on typical timelines and pricing are not published, so contact the shop directly.

Reputation

By its own account the company has been trading for more than four decades, and it is listed on several collector car directories and on ClassicCars.com. We did not find a BBB page for this business, and review totals vary across aggregator sites, so we do not quote a rating. As always, verify the title and condition independently.
