Cool Cars, which trades online as Cool Cars For Sale and is listed on Autotrader Classics as Cool Cars Inc., is a small classic and muscle car dealer in Pompano Beach, Florida. The Better Business Bureau dates the business to August 2004, and the company's website has been online since the same year. Its about page puts the focus simply: "Our specialty is selling muscle and classic cars that are hard to find at your local dealership." The business keeps short weekday hours and a small, hand-picked inventory of mostly American cars from the 1930s to the 1970s.

A small, owner-run dealer

The about page on the company's site is signed "Manny Cool," who describes himself as an avid car enthusiast who likes sharing his knowledge with customers. Reviews and the testimonials the company publishes mention Manny by name, and one customer describes a showroom decorated with custom license plates and antique car memorabilia. Its site does not mention consignment or buying cars from the public.

The dealer has moved within Pompano Beach. Its website listed 1909 NW 40th Court until at least 2012, and by early 2021 it carried a banner reading "Visit us at our new location" with the current South Dixie Highway address. Some directories, including the BBB and Birdeye, still show the older address.

What Cool Cars sells

Inventory is limited at any one time. On the day of our research the site listed four cars: a 1931 Ford Model A street rod at $31,995, a 1957 Chevrolet 210 station wagon at $57,990, a second 1957 Chevrolet wagon with a 327 and a four-speed manual at $29,950, and a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 W30 tribute with a 455 at $59,995.

The company's sold list gives a better sense of what passes through. It includes a long run of 1964 to 1967 Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros from 1967 to 1970, 1957 Bel Airs, Impala SS models, a 1966 Pontiac GTO, a 1963 Thunderbird, a 1958 Bonneville, Novas, an El Camino and early Chevrolet 3100 pickups. A few odder cars appear too, such as a 1975 VW Puma GT and a turbocharged 1963 Corvair Monza Spyder, along with a handful of modern used cars. Older captures of the site show prewar and early postwar cars as well, including a 1935 DeSoto Airflow and a 1962 Lincoln Continental convertible. Shoppers can also browse Florida classic cars for sale from other dealers and private sellers.

Buying from Cool Cars

The company's site offers two buyer services:

• Financing: its finance page refers buyers to J.J. Best Banc & Co., a lender that specializes in collector cars.
• Transport: the company says it has an in-house broker who can arrange a quote for open or enclosed shipping.

The site does not describe a deposit policy, inspection service or trade-in program, so ask about those directly. The BBB gives it an A+ rating; it is not BBB accredited, and the BBB showed no complaints closed in the past three years and no customer reviews at the time of our research. On Birdeye, which collects reviews from Google, Facebook and other sites, the business had a 4.5-star average from 21 reviews, with comments about friendly service and a smooth long-distance purchase. The most recent review visible there was about three years old, so the record is thin for recent sales. The two testimonials on the company's own site are short and positive.

Cool Cars is at 500 South Dixie Highway East, Pompano Beach, FL 33060. According to its site, it is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with Saturday visits by appointment only. The company lists (954) 969-1969 and (800) 532-7330 as its phone numbers, plus a cell line at (561) 542-5444. Because the stock is small and changes, call before driving over to see a specific car.
