Kool Karz LLC

Kool Karz is a family-owned classic car business on Canova Street SE in Palm Bay, on Florida's Space Coast. It buys, sells and trades classic cars and trucks, with a stated focus on vehicles built from the 1930s through the 1970s, and it runs a repair shop for cars of the same era alongside the sales side. The company says it has more than 20 years of experience, and it is known locally for the annual Kool Karz car show, which it has hosted with the Grant BBQ Festival since 2017.

Who runs Kool Karz

Customer testimonials published on the company's own site name Steve and his wife Linda as the people behind the shop, and a Hometown News feature on Brevard County car owners identified Steve Abbott as the owner of Kool Karz. Florida corporate records list the business entity as Kool Karz Palm Bay LLC, filed in September 2020, while the shop trades simply as Kool Karz or Kool Karz LLC. That filing date marks the current company rather than the start of the business: the car show predates it, and the company describes its experience in decades.

How the business works

Kool Karz describes its core business as buying, selling and trading classic cars, with what it calls "select vehicle servicing" offered on the side. Trade-ins are part of the pitch, so a buyer with a classic to move on can ask about putting it toward another car. Owners who simply want to sell are invited to list their car or truck with the company, and its FAQ page says Kool Karz offers consignment, handling the presentation and buyer inquiries for the owner. Fees and terms are not published, so ask how a deal would be structured, who holds the car and what the commission is before you sign. If you are weighing that route, our guide to selling a classic on consignment explains the usual arrangements.

What Kool Karz sells

The inventory is small and leans heavily on Chevrolet. In early October 2026 the company's site listed 13 vehicles, among them a 1957 Chevrolet 210, a 1957 Bel Air, a 1956 Chevrolet 150 and a 1967 Nova, both built in pro street style, a 1967 Malibu convertible, a 1967 Chevelle, and Chevrolet pickups from 1950 and 1981. Older cars included a 1932 Ford, a 1932 Ford coupe and a 1941 Willys, and the list also carried a 1993 Cadillac.

Several of these are modified builds rather than stock restorations, which suits the hot rod and street machine crowd. Only two cars showed an asking price at the time: the 1957 Chevrolet 210 at $59,000 and the 1950 pickup at $39,900. The rest are listed without prices, so expect to call or use the make an offer form on each listing.

Repairs, inspections and other services

The service side covers routine maintenance, mechanical repair and diagnostic work on cars and trucks from the 1930s through the 1970s. The company's services page says it no longer takes on full restorations, although an FAQ answer elsewhere on the site still mentions them, so confirm the scope if your car needs bodywork or a complete rebuild. Testimonials on the site describe a new engine installed in a 1975 Corvette and a 1970 Camaro converted to power steering and power brakes. The services page also lists:

• Pre-purchase inspections and appraisals for classic and custom cars in Brevard, Orange and Indian River counties, with reports on rust, build quality and numbers matching verification.
• Transport through Shaw Auto Carriers, which the site lists as a separate company with its own phone number.
• Detailing for cars, trucks, RVs and boats through a related operation the site calls Kool Karz II.

Buying from Kool Karz

The FAQ says each vehicle is reviewed and described as accurately as possible before it is sold. That is a reasonable starting point, not a replacement for your own checks. Ask for the VIN and title status, find out exactly what has been changed on a modified car (engine, transmission, suspension, brakes and wiring), and ask for receipts for recent work. Because the shop is local, a buyer who can visit has the advantage of seeing the car in person; anyone buying from a distance should arrange an independent inspection before sending money.

Car show and community work

Since 2017 Kool Karz has run a classic car show as part of the Grant BBQ Festival, held in Grant just south of Palm Bay. The company says proceeds go to Toys for Kids, a Brevard County holiday charity, and that the 2026 show drew 323 vehicles, its largest turnout so far. The tenth annual show is scheduled for Saturday, April 10, 2027, with registration opening in January 2027. Hometown News also reported that Steve Abbott takes collector cars to assisted-living facilities between Palm Bay and Suntree so residents can see them up close, and ride in them when they are able.

Reputation and visiting

We did not find a Better Business Bureau profile for Kool Karz. The business has a Facebook page with roughly 1,000 followers and listings on Yelp and other directories, but we could not view ratings and review counts on those platforms directly, so none are quoted here. What can be checked is a fixed Palm Bay address, a charity car show that has run for close to a decade, and local press coverage.

The shop is at 1725 Canova St SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909. The company lists its hours as Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed on weekends. Inventory turns over, so call (321) 212-9716 before driving over to see a particular car. For a wider selection, browse classic cars for sale in Florida.
