Description
1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop that has been treated to recent upgrades for performance and appearance, and it’s available now from MaxMotive. Beautiful Acapulco Blue metallic paint was professionally applied to the solid sheet metal in December of 2023. The floor is also in great shape.
The 1973 351 Windsor Engine (a desirable pre-’74 block) was thoroughly rebuilt with TRW forged pistons, polished crank, plus new bearings and timing chain. Performance enhancing goodies include a Ford Motorsports cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley 600 Carb, and headers with dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. The engine has approximately 4000 miles on it so it is thoroughly tested and broken in.
The C4 transmission is matched to a B&M 3000 stall converter and manual valve body, operated by a new shifter. Other desirable features include front disc brakes, Ford styled steel wheels, and in-dash auxiliary gauges. To finish the car, it received new chrome and badging, new lights, new weather stripping, and new carpeting.
It comes with an extra set of keys, an extra set of GT center caps, a car cover, and the original Owner’s Manual. The new paint looks great in the sun, and along with the correct Ford wheels and the black vinyl top, the car presents very well. With all the work done to the engine, it’s something of a sleeper too.

Classic Ford Mustang Buyer's Guide
The Ford Mustang launched on April 17, 1964 and sold a million units faster than any car in American history. Sixty years later, the first-generation Mustang (1964½-1973) remains the cornerstone of the classic car hobby — the gateway car for new collectors, the trophy car for veteran enthusiasts, and the most cloned, faked, and re-stamped muscle car on the market. Whether you're hunting a base inline-six coupe or a documented Boss 429, knowing what separates the real cars from the tribute builds is the difference between an investment and a money pit.
