Lakeside Auto Sales

Lakeside Auto Sales is a used vehicle dealer in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Its website describes it as specializing in one-owner vehicles, classic cars and trucks, and the stock mixes a few vintage vehicles with many late-model cars and trucks. It is an independent business and is not affiliated with Classic Cars Arena.

Who runs it

The site names Blaine and Julia Percy as the owners and says customers deal with them directly. Blaine's biography says he opened an auto repair business, Percy's Auto Service, in 1989 and sold it in 2003 and moved into vehicle sales before opening Lakeside Auto Sales with Julia a few years later. The site does not give an opening year for the dealership, so we do not state one.

How the business works

Lakeside sells vehicles from its lot and also takes cars on consignment. Its consignment page says it advertises vehicles on many websites, handles buyer enquiries and appointments, works with buyers' trades, and can offer financing and extended warranties to buyers. The page says each consignment is customized, but it publishes no commission or fee, so ask for the terms in writing before you hand over a car. Our guide to consigning a classic explains what those terms usually cover.

What it sells

This is not a pure classic car dealer. When we checked, the for-sale page included a 1949 Ford pickup, a 1951 Ford F1 and a 1956 Ford F100, and the home page slideshow featured a 1971 Corvette. Most other listings were late-model vehicles, among them a 2023 Ram TRX, several late-model Corvettes, a 1991 Acura NSX, a 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG and everyday SUVs. Powersports vehicles such as an ATV and a snowmobile also appeared, and the About page mentions trailers and boats. The site keeps Previously Sold and Corvettes Sold pages. Check what is currently listed before you plan a visit.

Services listed

• Consignment, with vehicles marketed on many websites.
• Financing through an online credit application and loan calculator, according to the site.
• Trade-in appraisals and a "Sell Us Your Vehicle" page.
• Vehicle finder service, detailing, and wheel protection products.

The site does not mention shipping or pre-purchase inspections, so ask about both if you are not local.

Reputation

We found no BBB profile for this Ontario dealer and no review counts we could verify. The site has a Media Coverage page, which we did not review. Because classics are a smaller part of the inventory, confirm a vehicle's history, ownership and condition yourself, and consider an independent inspection. To see cars from other sellers, browse classic cars for sale in Ontario.
