NextGen Classic Cars of Illinois

NextGen Classic Cars of Illinois is a family owned and operated classic car dealer in Addison, Illinois, in DuPage County west of Chicago. The company says it has more than 25 years of experience with classic cars and describes its approach as offering hand-picked, "realistic priced" cars. Its focus, in its own words, is classic, muscle and collector vehicles.

How the business works

NextGen is a dealer that buys and resells cars rather than a consignment house, and its website does not describe a consignment program. Inventory is posted on the company's own site, which it says is updated weekly, and the dealer also lists cars on eBay and publishes video listings on YouTube. Some of the cars on the site carry a price in the listing title, while most show only a short description, so ask for a price when it is not shown.

What NextGen sells

The inventory is mostly American, with a strong run of Chevrolets. On the day this profile was researched, the site listed about sixteen vehicles, including a 1962 and a 1964 Corvette, a 1966 Corvette convertible, a 1967 Corvette coupe, a 1955 Bel Air, a 1966 Caprice with a 396 engine, a 1965 Mustang GT convertible and a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. It also lists less common choices such as a 1966 AMC Rambler Classic 770, a 1962 Buick Electra 225, a 1972 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight and a 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass S convertible.

The dealer also lists motorcycles from time to time, including a restored 1942 Harley-Davidson WLA and a 1975 Honda CB750F at the time of writing. A "coming soon" section names cars still in preparation, among them a 1973 Mustang convertible, a 1982 C10 pickup and several more Corvettes. Inventory changes quickly, so check the dealer's current list. Our page of Illinois classic cars for sale shows what else is available in the state.

Buying from NextGen

The company's services page says it accepts trade-ins and can coordinate shipping anywhere in the world. Its financing page says it works with two collector car lenders, Woodside Credit and J.J. Best Banc and Co. Terms depend on the lender and the buyer, so ask for details before relying on any quote.

For buyers who cannot visit in person, request the VIN, title status and extra photos, and consider a third-party inspection before sending money. Our advice on what to check before you buy applies to any dealer purchase, local or long distance.

Reputation

NextGen does not appear to have a Better Business Bureau profile. Birdeye shows an average of 3.9 stars from 23 reviews, with a mix of positive and critical comments. Reading recent reviews directly is the best way to judge the experience, and the safest approach with any dealer is to verify the specific car, the paperwork and every promise in writing.
