Vintage Motor Cars USA

Vintage Motor Cars USA is a classic, collector and exotic car dealer at 30325 Solon Industrial Parkway in Solon, Ohio, in the Cleveland area. It sells cars from its own inventory and also helps owners sell their cars on consignment. The company says it was started in 2008 "with the goal of helping friends find new homes for their collector cars."

History and approach

Vintage Motor Cars describes its origin as informal: helping friends sell collector cars, then building that into a business. Its website says the aim was to offer "direct, reasonably priced marketing assistance" that would remove the headaches of selling a vintage, classic or exotic car. The pages we read do not name an owner or staff, so we are not listing any. The company says it shows cars at its showroom and at local and national shows.

Dealer stock and consignment

The business works two ways. It buys and sells inventory of its own, and it takes cars from owners who want help selling. On its consignment pages the company invites owners to "consign with confidence" and says the service offers access to "millions of online impressions and a global audience of serious collectors." It states that cars are advertised across seven listing sites, in club magazines and on specialty club sites, and that each car gets more than 100 high-definition photographs. The company also lists provenance research and concours preparation among the help it offers, and says it can assist with detailing.

Consignment fees and commission terms are not published on the pages we reviewed, so owners will need to ask directly. Our overview of how classic car consignment works explains the usual structures, what to ask about fees, and what an agreement should cover.

What it sells

The company's focus is classic, vintage and exotic cars, including pre-war American cars such as Packards. Vehicles shown on its site recently included a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette, a 1940 Packard Series 180 convertible sedan with Darrin coachwork and a 2004 Dodge Viper SRT-10, with a 1964 Corvette coupe, a 1956 Packard 400 and a 2021 Ford F-150 Shelby Super Snake listed as coming soon. Listings elsewhere have also shown a 1915 Lozier Type 82. Inventory turns over, so treat these as examples rather than a standing catalog.

Buying from Vintage Motor Cars USA

Buyers can see cars at the 6,000 square foot showroom, which the company describes on its site. Its website also links to a financing page and lists storage as a service, although we could not read details on terms for either. We found no published information on shipping or on inspection policies, so ask about both before you commit, especially for a long-distance purchase. Because some cars are on consignment, it also helps to confirm who owns the car and who will sign the title.

Reputation

We did not find a review rating or BBB page that we could confirm belongs to this business, so we are not quoting any. A BBB listing exists for a similarly named company in Bedford, Ohio, but we could not verify it is the same one. What can be checked is that the company has been in business since 2008 by its own account, that it keeps a physical showroom and that it has maintained inventory and "coming soon" notices on its site. As with any dealer, rely on the specific car: get the VIN, title status and service records, and consider an independent inspection.

Visiting and contact

The showroom is at 30325 Solon Industrial Parkway, Solon, Ohio 44139. The company lists Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM with a request to call ahead, Saturday by appointment only and Sunday closed.
