Texas Trucks & Classics
Conroe dealer run by Brian Wyka since 2005, focused on 1967 to 1998 Chevrolet trucks plus 4x4s and mixed classics, by appointment.
About Texas Trucks & Classics
Texas Trucks & Classics, which also goes by the short brand TX CLSX, is a Conroe, Texas dealer run by owner Brian Wyka. The company says it specializes in buying and selling classic Chevrolet trucks from 1967 to 1998, but its stock goes well beyond that: muscle cars, 4x4s, vans, former military Humvees and a fair number of modern vehicles. It operates mainly online and by appointment, and sells to buyers across the US and abroad.
Who runs Texas Trucks & Classics
According to the company's site, Wyka spent several years as general manager of a large eBay vehicle dealership before starting Texas Trucks & Classics in 2005. The Better Business Bureau file gives the same 2005 start date and lists him as principal. The business is built around him personally: the site says he buys, drives, photographs and lists each vehicle himself, answers emails personally and can be reached by cell seven days a week.
How the business works
Texas Trucks & Classics mixes its own stock with consigned vehicles. The about page says plainly that "many of our vehicles are consignments" and that the online inventory may not always be up to date, so a car you see listed could already be sold or could be stored somewhere other than Conroe. The company also offers a vehicle request form and says it will search for a car it does not have in stock.
There is no public showroom. The Conroe address on Highway 105 West is listed as a mailing address only, and the contact page says viewings are by appointment, arranged by calling or texting Brian. Owners thinking about selling a truck through a dealer like this should ask how fees and storage are handled; our guide on how classic car consignment works covers the questions to raise.
What it sells
On the day we checked, the site listed 86 items for sale, almost all of them vehicles. Roughly half were trucks, 4x4s, vans or utility vehicles. The truck side includes the late model square body and "OBS" Chevrolet and GMC pickups the company focuses on, such as a 1978 C10 Bonanza, a 1979 GMC Royal Sierra and a run of 1988 to 1997 C/K pickups, plus older haulers like a 1968 C20 and a 1950 Dodge B-2. There were several AM General M998 Humvees, a 1972 K5 Blazer and a 1970 Toyota FJ40.
The car side is more varied: a 1955 Chevrolet Nomad, a 1966 Pontiac GTO, a 1968 Camaro SS, a 1971 Mustang Boss 351 and a pair of early 1950s woody wagons. About a third of the listings were from 2000 or later, including a BMW M3, a Mercedes C63 AMG and late model pickups, so this is not a classics only lot. Asking prices ran from under $3,000 for small bikes to $169,000 for the Nomad, with a median near $23,000. The site's "recently sold" section holds more than 500 vehicles, and a separate automobilia shop lists over 1,000 signs, neon pieces, gas pumps, oil cans, pedal cars and Humvee parts.
Buying from Texas Trucks & Classics
Because the business works mostly at a distance, the practical steps matter:
- Viewing: appointment only. Confirm where the vehicle is before you travel, since consigned cars may not be on site.
- Financing: the site points buyers to third-party collector car lenders, including J.J. Best Banc, Collector Car Leaders and Woodside Credit, and names contacts at two of them.
- Shipping: the company offers free quotes for domestic and international transport and says its rates will beat the competition.
- Storage and restoration: its Facebook page says it also ships, stores and restores vehicles.
For any remote purchase, ask for the VIN, title status and a walk-around video, and get an independent inspection before sending money.
Reputation
The company has traded under the same name since 2005. It is not BBB accredited, and the BBB has not issued a rating for lack of information, but it shows no complaints closed in the past three years. The site publishes a set of customer testimonials from buyers in Texas, Florida, Arkansas and Tennessee, which are useful color but are chosen by the dealer. Its Facebook page has about 3,400 followers and is active.
One point to avoid confusion: a separate business called Texas Classics & Trucks operates in Burleson, Texas. It is not connected to this Conroe dealer, so check the name carefully when reading reviews.
